Soumini Raja
Soumini Raja is an artist, architect, and academic whose practice moves fluidly between pedagogy, performance, and art. She is Professor and Head of Department at Avani Institute of Design, Kerala, and Chairperson of the Board of Studies in Design at the University of Calicut. With more than a decade of academic experience, her work frames design as a continuous negotiation between society (human-non human), culture, and the environment. She co-founded Studio Commune in 2016 and Atelier SR25 in 2025 as platforms to expand her research and art practices. She works at the intersection of feminist spatial practice, ecologies of adaptation and posthuman spatiality.

سوميني راجا فنانة ومعمارية وأكاديمية، تتراوح ممارستها بين التعليم والأداء والفن. تشغل منصب أستاذة ورئيسة قسم في معهد أفاني للتصميم في ولاية كيرالا، وتتولى رئاسة مجلس دراسات التصميم في جامعة كاليكوت. استناداً إلى خبرتها الأكاديمية لأكثر من عقد، تؤطر أعمالها التصميم باعتباره آلية تفاوض مستمرة بين المجتمع (البشري وغير البشري) والثقافة والبيئة. شاركت في تأسيس استوديو كوميون عام 2016 وأتيليه SR25 عام 2025، كمساحتين لتطوير آفاق بحثها وممارستها الفنية. تركز مشاريعها على التقاطعات بين الممارسة المكانية النسوية وإيكولوجيات التكيّف والدراسات المكانية ما بعد الإنسانية.
