Natasha Sharma
Natasha Sharma is an artist, researcher, and curator in social and urban practice based in Mumbai, India. She combines artistic expression with social research, and creates place-based, community-led grassroot interventions, primarily in public spaces. Not limited by form or medium, her interventions include making a film (Gutter Ki Machli - Fish in the Sewer) on local climate change vocabulary, creating learning environments in metro stations (The Wait Time Project), site-specific interventions in public parks (Library of Mats), installations embodying softness (1 by one), and recently, creating Under One Sky (Ek Aasmaan Tale), a creative ecosystem of three spaces for arts, learning, and wellbeing in one of the most marginalized neighbourhood in the west of Mumbai, Govandi.
She is the Co-founder and Curator of Govandi Arts Festival, a community-led arts and culture festival that reclaims and transforms the socio-spatial narrative and infrastructure of Govandi, and leads the Public Art and Design programmes at Community Design Agency. She recently received UNESCO's Going Together - For Youth Creativity and Wellbeing grant (2025), the Arts4Resilience - Knowledge Into Use award (2023), Reclaim Art Award (2021), and has been invited to Glastonbury Festival (UK) for their Diversity Artist programme(2024). Her film Gutter Ki Machhli made it as a finalist for Best Indian Short Film in All Living Things Environmental Film Festival (ALT EFF) 2024.

ناتاشا شارما فنانة وباحثة وقيّمة فنية في حقل الممارسة الاجتماعية والحضرية، تعمل من مومباي. تمزج في عملها بين التعبير الفني والبحث الاجتماعي، بالعمل على تدخلات تصميمية في الفضاء العام تخاطب روح المكان وتنبع من المجتمع المحلي. لا ترتهن تدخلاتها لقالب أو وسيط محدد، إذ تتراوح بين صناعة الأفلام (مثل فيلم "سمكة في المجارير" الذي يوثق مفردات تغير المناخ المحلي)، وخلق بيئات تعليمية في محطات المترو (مشروع "وقت الانتظار")، وتدخلات محايثة للموقع في الحدائق العامة (مشروع "مكتبة الحصير")، وصولاً إلى أعمال تركيبية تُجسد مفهوم النعومة (مشروع "واحدة بواحدة"). أنجزت مؤخراً مشروع "تحت سماء واحدة"، وهو نظام بيئي إبداعي يحتضن ثلاث مساحات للفنون والتعلم والرفاهية في منطقة "جوفاندي"، أحد أكثر المناطق تهميشاً في غرب مومباي.
ناتاشا هي المؤسِسة الشريكة والقيّمة الفنية لمهرجان جوفاندي للفنون، وهو مهرجان ثقافي أهلي يهدف إلى استعادة وإعادة تشكيل السردية الاجتماعية والمكانية والبنية التحتية للمنطقة، كما ترأس برامج الفن العام والتصميم في مركز التصميم المجتمعي. حظيت مؤخراً بتقدير دولي شمل منحة اليونسكو "العمل معاً - لإبداع الشباب ورفاههم" (2025)، وجائزة آرتس فور ريزيليانس (2023)، وجائزة استعادة الفن (2021)، فضلاً عن دعوتها إلى مهرجان غلاستونبري (المملكة المتحدة) ضمن برنامج تنوع الفنانين (2024). رُشّح فيلمها "سمكة في المجارير" على القائمة النهائية لجائزة أفضل فيلم قصير هندي في "مهرجان كل الكائنات الحية للأفلام البيئية" (ALT EFF) لعام 2024.
