With the certification of the farm’s produce for consumption, the focus of the programme began to evolve from establishing the technical and experimental foundations of urban farming to exploring how the farm, as both a space and a source of food, could deepen community engagement.
The first harvesting and cooking session was held with SAT staff as a pilot, allowing the team to rehearse the processes required for future gatherings. Beyond harvesting, this session tested organisational needs, equipment, and logistics in preparation for extending similar activities to the Al Manakh community. It marked the beginning of a new phase for the farm, positioning it as a site for shared learning, exchange, and collective nourishment.
