Zarmeene Shah
Zarmeene Shah is an independent curator and writer, and an academic currently based in Karachi, Pakistan. Focusing on global contemporary art with specialist knowledge of the South Asian region, Shah's research interests expand into the Global South, engaging with questions at the intersection of decolonial aesthetics, ecology, culture and politics. She has curated and been involved in the production of numerous solo and group exhibitions of contemporary art institutionally and independently.
Amongst other appointments, she has previously served as Guest Curator for Qatar Museums, Curator-at-Large of the inaugural Karachi Biennale (KB17), and Assistant Director of the Mohatta Palace Museum. She is currently Associate Professor at the Indus Valley School of Art & Architecture, where she has served as Director Graduate Studies leading an interdisciplinary MPhil degree focusing on practice as research.

زرمين شاه هي قيّمة فنية مستقلة وكاتبة وأكاديمية تقيم في كراتشي، باكستان. يركز عملها على الفن المعاصر العالمي، مع معرفة متخصصة بجنوب آسيا واهتمام بحثي يشمل الجنوب العالمي. تتمحور أسئلتها البحثية حول تقاطعات الجماليات المناهضة للاستعمار والبيئة والثقافة والسياسة. شاركت في تقييم وإنتاج العديد من المعارض الفردية والجماعية للفن المعاصر، سواء ضمن مؤسسات فنية أو بشكل مستقل.
عملت سابقاً كقيّمة ضيفة لدى متاحف قطر، وقيّمة عامة للنسخة الافتتاحية من بينالي كراتشي، ونائبة مديرة متحف قصر موهاتا. تعمل حالياً كأستاذة مشاركة في كلية إندوس فالي للفنون والعمارة، حيث تترأس برنامج الماجستير متعدد التخصصات والذي تركّز فيه على الممارسة باعتبارها بحثاً.
